Mercer Human Resource Consulting to acquire Synhrgy
January 7 2004 - Mercer Human Resource Consulting, the world's largest
human resource consulting firm and fifth largest provider of benefits outsourcing services,
has agreed to acquire Synhrgy, a major provider of HR technology and outsourcing services to Fortune 1000
companies.
"With Synhrgy joining the Mercer family, we can offer clients a broader
range of consulting and outsourcing services," says Dan McCaw, chief executive officer and
president of Mercer's global operations. "We're excited about combining Mercer's superior capabilities with those of Synhrgy."
"One of the reasons Synhrgy decided to join forces with Mercer is that we share cultures that are highly client focused," says Dave Carlson, chief executive officer of Synhrgy. "This natural fit means that our clients will continue to receive the highest possible level of service with complete flexibility to meet their unique needs."
While Mercer provides consulting on a wide range of HR issues and employee benefit
programs, Synhrgy focuses mainly on health and group benefits outsourcing solutions. Synhrgy
also offers outsourcing services across a wide spectrum of human resource functions.
"Synhrgy clients will benefit from Mercer's many years of experience across all areas of human resource consulting, while Mercer clients will benefit from Synhrgy's unique approach to providing flexible, innovative outsourcing solutions," says Karen Greenbaum, president and chief operating officer of Mercer's US operations. "This joining of forces provides a powerful combination of strategic thinking around the human resource issues facing firms today and cost-effective service delivery to address them."
